Attack of the busyness bug, November in April, etc.

Sorry it has been a while since we have posted! Internet has been "touch-and-go" this week, so it is nice to be back writing to you all.

This past weekend I had the privilege of attending the Meadowbrook Baptist Women's Retreat at Camp Buckner. We had a guest speaker, Laurie Miracle, talk to us about the "Busyness Bug" with some practical ways to abide in Christ. I will be writing a separate post soon as to what I learned from that weekend. Several things she spoke on were an encouragement to me and the time away with a group of beautiful sisters was refreshing. Plus, I got to spend some time with family who attended the retreat- what a blessing! I am having some issues uploading pictures to the computer, so hopefully I will get some pictures of the weekend up soon!

Also, due to some mid-week vacationers to all the craft/antique fairs going on in the Hill Country of Texas this week, we have been moved to the newly built "4 Seasons" here at Camp Tejas. We are staying in November and it has certainly been a fun adventure! They are still doing construction on the building, so right now we are having to go back over to the Barn214 to eat (as there is not a finished kitchen at the 4 Seasons). We truly are blessed by getting to stay here at the camp, but at times it is still hard feeling "homeless."

On that subject, I recently read an article on "The American Dream" and it got me thinking. I am very thankful that the Lord has looked deep into my heart and provided me with the living condition that will keep me most focused on Him and His ability to provide me with abundantly more than I need. He is so good!

And just for fun, a picture of Benjamin when he was about 2 months old. Gotta love that expression!

  1. He looks so focused! I'm so glad to hear you had a nice weekend with other fellow sisters. It's amazing how much you miss community when you don't have it :) I hope you're having a wonderful week!

  2. Benjamin was just fascinated with the amazing sounds his Uncle CJ can make. Sometimes I even fascinate myself with the noises I can make, can't wait to see you guys this weekend!
